Recommendations and Cautions:

Professional recommendation is advised for those taking digoxin or thiazine diuretics.

Not recommended for use in patients with hypercalcaemia, sarcoidosis and hyperparathyroidism.

Vitamin D supplements may reduce the effectiveness of calcium channel blockers.

Use of lipid-lowering drugs (eg cholestyramine, colestipol) or anticonvulsants may reduce levels of vitamin D in the body. Supplements containing vitamin D may be beneficial.
